My name is Jim DeLong.  The purpose of fireforeffect.com is to share my opinions and analysis with anyone interested in what I think.  Topics include current events, history, politics, business, college football, hunting,  fishing, and anything else that I may find interesting. 

I am biased.  A lot.  Freedom is more important than equality.  Decentralization is good.  In business, government, and in your family.  Private property is good.  Individual choice is good.  If you don't have the freedom to make bad decisions, you are not free.
